SD Soldat Romain Poo is a stately SDHR registered Spotted Draft Stallion. His name is French for Roman Soldier and he exudes a majesty fitting of his name. He stands 15.3hh and still growing. At his age, he's just coming into his prime years, so this would be a great opportunity to build your relationship for the years to come.
He walks, trots, and canters with a steady gate. He has been ridden under English and Western but primarily Western with a soft hand. Although it is not our specialty, he has dabbled in jumping up to 24'' and free jumping above 36''.
We focus on horses that previously exhibited adverse behaviors, love on them, work out the issues, and then send them on to their forever homes. He came to us out of a less than ideal situation. While he does not bite or kick as he did in his previous home, he takes time to fully trust. He isn't cinchy or touchy, washes and trailers well, and loves to work, but appreciates consistency. He has interacted with mares with no issues.
Since he is a stallion, we also have his DNA profile and his color throw profile. However, he has not yet been bred. He is clear negative for HYPP, HERDA, GBED, MH, and PSSM1.
He has hardy hooves and a clean bill of health. Fresh Coggins and vaccinations March 2022. Teeth were checked by our equine dentist and do not need floated this year. Vet, farrier, and chiropractor references available and sale will come with the latest comprehensive care report.
